My research focuses on predominant representations of twentieth-century Afro-Caribbean female writing through comparative analysis. I use the concept of the palimpsest to reconfigure Afro-Caribbean female historical writing as a site of empowerment born of the struggles of postcolonial and neocolonial history. Currently, I'm working on marronage in Latin America.
