I joined the Spanish and Portuguese Department faculty at Colorado College in August 2019. My research focuses on Afro-Latin American and Caribbean women's writing in the 20th and 21st centuries. In the summer of 2020, I launched Aproximaciones Afrolatinoamericanas, an online series and discussion space dedicated to Afro-Latin American history, literature, and the arts. This series has become an integral part of my scholarly work, providing a platform for active engagement, in-depth analysis, and meaningful collaboration with prominent authors. Notably, Aproximaciones has featured contributions from distinguished writers such as Mónica Carrillo and Mary Grueso, among others
